Craft an essay of no less than six (6) full pages that addresses the complex nature of social media, its
place in society, whether it is doing more harm than good, and what the future holds for this method of
communicating our lives not only to our family and friends, but to the world as well.

Avoid crafting one long paragraph for each source. Instead, articulate your ideas by showing
how different points of view reveal their strengths and weaknesses when juxtaposed. For example, how
would the author of “Social Media and Bringing People Together, Virtually and Physically”respond to “The Flight From Conversation”? When you incorporate multiple sources into the aspects of the topic you are
arguing, you give your reader a broad look at the subject and also an opportunity to evaluate the sources
in relation to the overall argument you are making.
Your argument essay should be “solution based.” Addressing all of the different ideas here is crucial for
your reader to understand the entire topic. What do you think of these ideas? Is social media something
you can simply opt out of or is it necessary in order to be engaged and stay connected with the world?
What do YOU believe is the best way to navigate social media? Where is this headed, and is there anything we can do about shaping it into a more productive and effective way to communicate with one another?
