BIO 103 – Contemporary Issues in Biology
Final Project: The Un-Essay (25 points)
Due: No later than 11:59pm on May 8th
Project Objective: To allow you to engage with the course material in any way that interests you. Your un-essay can focus on absolutely any topic that we covered throughout the semester, as long as it relates to some aspect of the biological sciences or how people interact with scientific knowledge.
Things you must turn in for this assignment: 1) The un-essay project itself

Or you can upload it (if it has a digital format), or photos/video of all aspects of a physical project to the appropriate assignment folder in D2L, no later than 11:59pm om May 8th.
2) Your project statement (see below)
3) A self-assessment
• The project statement and self-assessment can be in the same document and MUST BE TURNED IN VIA D2L no later than 11:59pm om May 8th.
1) Un-Essay Format: ANYTHING you want!
Imagination and creativity allow us find answers to problems in unique ways. Even if 1,000 people look at the same issue, you will bring a unique and distinctive view to the question based on your personal lived experiences. We hope this assignment will allow you to explore the course
materials and topics in a way that is salient to your own goals and interests. (And, hopefully
provide a bit of stress relief during exam week!)
