One of the main jobs of historians is to interpret the past by reviewing primary documents, scholarly secondary sources, and then creating an analysis of this research. In this assignment, you will be presenting your own interpretation on what we should learn from the Mexican Repatriation as well as what we can learn from primary sources. You can use the resources listed in Canvas, but are also free to bring in outside sources, if properly cited. Once you have completed your research, submit a reflective journal on your findings about the Mexican Repatriation. You may consider the following questions but are not limited to them: What are the key features related to the Mexican Repatriation? Why are these stories generally left out of history books? What can you learn specifically from listening to a story told live? How should the government approach this and is there a way to correct this for the people impacted? What other connections can you make to other times in history and what should we collectively learn from this?
