OPTION 1: Traditional Dissertation
– 6000-words [maximum +/- 5% variation is only permitted]
– Minimum 6 high quality visuals produced by you [collages, diagrams, moving image work etc] + any other extra
relevant visuals produced by others.
– Research Diary: Minimum 15 proformas – 13 if registered with DAS [not counted towards the word count of the
6000-word dissertation] + other process work that is deemed relevant by each student.
OPTION 2: Practice-based Dissertation
– Practice element + 4500-words [maximum +/- 5% variation is only permitted].
o Note: the creative element will need to be a significant component of your work to be counted as practice-
based (eg. it cannot be 1 film, or 1 model)
– Minimum 10 high quality visuals of your practice-based element + any other extra relevant visuals produced by
others.
