Hello Professor and Classmates,
As a quick reminder as we advance, my Capstone Project is about Intel and the analysis of the supply chain and on-time delivery issue that has been Intel’s biggest headache since the Pandemic started.
Intel’s Vision Statement ” Utilize the power of Moore’s Law to bring smart, connected devices to every person on earth.” As of 2022, Intel still works hard to maintain Moore’s Law alive and well with more than 200 Bi transistor this year and plan on having 1 trillion by 2030 (Intel, 1).
Intel talks numbers and excitement which reflects on the strategy that follows the necessary movement to make sure it achieves its goals. The key elements of my strategy are the vision (to keep the team focused and knowing what we are – we will connect devices to every person on earth), the mission (where are going, what the goal is), SWOT (it will give a clear look of the company environment) and use the five slides from Jack Welch (it would give a clear picture where the company stands and competitors), with the problem we are trying to solve, we will also use the short-range planning for analysis, to decide the best move to solve the on-time delivery (in the short-term) and differentiation (we can manufacture our product, we can control most of the cost, we can give better prices) (Welch, 2).
If successful, the plan will re-establish Intel’s credibility, recover lost markets and gain new ones. Intel has maintained its vision statement throughout the years and has just adjusted the strategy as the environment changes. The market analysis showed what the competitors have been doing and their strategic moves to remain competitive. Most of them did not have the advantage of manufacturing their products, but they were thoughtful about long and short-term planning and forecast which Intel somehow let pass thinking they would never rely on reserve.
Nowadays, replicating the capability of Intel and all its products and reach would be challenging. If Intel finally solves the on-time delivery and maintains high quality and fair prices, it will be unstoppable.
