• Describe the disease in detail utilizing the poster, including name, description, history, cause, treatment, and avoidance of the disease
• Distinguish different types of reference materials used as bibliographic information for poster
POSTER INFORMATION/GUIDELINES
Your poster will be created in Microsoft PowerPoint.
The poster will include information about all aspects of the reproductive disease that you have picked. Each area will be assessed for your poster and should be easily read by an audience that can view your poster from two to five feet away.
Your poster should include the following topics:
NAME OF THE DISEASE:
Include the specific name of your disease, including any scientific names and nicknames that the disease is also known as in some parts of the world.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DISEASE:
Provide a brief description of the disease and inform the audience about the importance of this disease in relation to animal reproduction. If this disease only affects a certain species, be sure to mention this in the description. You can even mention in this section the cost of the disease!
HISTORY OF THE DISEASE:
Understanding the history of the disease will sometimes uncover why the disease is named a certain way, or how the disease originated in a certain species. Describe the history of your disease briefly.
CAUSE OF THE DISEASE
Explain how an animal contracts the disease. Does the disease need a host to replicate or infect? Describe the lifecycle of the disease here. In the section, you can also describe the pathogenicity of the disease, and how animals pass the disease on to one another.
TREATMENT OF THE DISEASE:
Some diseases have specific treatments, and some do not. Illustrate the treatments, if any, for your disease. Are there specific medications that you can give to treat the disease? Should the animal be culled or treated?
AVOIDANCE OF THE DISEASE:
In order to evade treatment, producers and animal owners may need to employ avoidance strategies for your disease. How would a producer avoid the disease? Are there specific management practices that the producer can utilize to manage the disease, if it does occur? Can the disease be eradicated from an animal population?
ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY
In a document, please type your name, your approved topic and the title, Annotated Bibliography. In a bulleted list, using APA format, list a minimum five (5) references, and under each reference, a short paragraph should be typed describing the reference in 150 words minimum, 200 words maximum. Your maximum list of references should be no more than 15 references. Give a short description for EACH REFERENCE.
