As you progress through this class, you will practice active, engaged reading by keeping a reading journal. You will write eight 0.5- to 1-page entries over Weeks 1 – 7 of class. What commentary does the novel offer the child reader about the morality of the character’s decision? Evaluate what this is teaching children about moral character and discernment.
