Over the next few weeks, you will be developing a Special Occasion Speech.
Assignment Instructions
You will complete several steps you build your speech.
This week you will tackle the first step; brainstorming.
For this assignment, consider a potential special occasion you will speak at (wedding, funeral, graduation). You may chose any occasion that suits you: flex your creativity!
Once you have selected your occasion, explore the path your speech will take. The intent is to introduce, commemorate, praise, condemn, pay tribute, nominate, dedicate, or entertain your audience.
You will submit a document which discusses your chosen topic and various points you may want to discuss in your speech. The organization of your points is not relevant at this point. This is a freestyle/brainstorming assignment that sets the foundation.
Should you choose to map your ideas out with activities such as clustering, then you may scan or take a picture of your work and submit it in lieu of a typed document.
