RESPOND TO THIS-
“The 2006 American Pageant, like its predecessor, characterizes Brown as ‘deranged,’ ‘gaunt,’ ‘grim,’ and ‘terrible,’ says that ‘thirteen of his near relatives were regarded as insane, including his mother and grandmother,’ and terms the Harpers Ferry raid a ‘mad exploit.’”
Its just crazy to me how history gets twisted and turned into something its not. John Brown was an abolitionist who was clearly against slavery and believed it was a sin. Brown fought for equal rights and for slaves while, instead was slandered in history textbooks for being mentally ill. In my opinion, I find it very concerning we are being fed false information, its unnecessary and not smart at all in the long run. As quoted from Winston Churchill, “Those that fail to learn history are doomed to repeat it.”
