One component of this course is a social responsibility project. As a group, you will identify a problem in your communities (school, neighborhood, region, non-profit organizations…etc) and find solutions to these problems. Pick recent, local and interesting issues that you find close to your heart. The problems themselves can be minor but solutions can make changes in these communities. I strongly encourage doing some voluntary work related to your project. You can post videos, share articles, publish interviews and post pictures on your blackboard group blog. You can also use the blog and wiki tools on blackboard to collaborate on your project. You can find more details regarding the group project on Blackboard.
Deliverables for the project:
1.Written report (one per group), 8-10 pages double spaced, MLA style bibliography, professional, appropriately cited and proof read. Due on Nov 12 at 11 pm on Blackboard
2. Presentation slides on the presentation day
3. Peer evaluations on the presentation day
You will be graded based on:
Interestingness, currency and relevance of the topic. Don’t use old and generic topics.
Application of theories and frameworks learned in class
Adherence to format, use of external resources and appropriate bibliography
