1.     Find a story or article from a major news source (e.g. NYT, AP, NBC, CNN, FOX, etc.) that reports findings or uses the findings of some social scientific study to make a claim about a causal relationship between two things (e.g. age and frequency of exercise).
Using the information within the article:
Identify the main finding that is reported.  State what the finding is and provide a direct quote from the article.
Identify what the main method of observation (choose one the four methods discussed in Chapter 1).  Again, provide a quote from the article and then explain why the method you chose is the best description.
Identify the data that were used or collected by quoting directly from the article.
Finally, explain how the main finding were used by the author(s) to support the causal relationship.
Be sure to provide a link/citation for the article (you can also attach it as a PDF).
