Throughout this course, you’ll be addressing the various tasks and strategies employed using the P-O-L-C framework. This P-O-L-C framework provides useful guidance into what the ideal job of a manager should look like. You will practice applying the activities of the P-O-L-C framework to a business challenge that you wish to explore. Identify the challenge that will be addressed in your assignments throughout the course. The culmination of your work throughout this course on this challenge will be your final project. After reviewing the readings from this week, determine one challenge facing modern managers that you plan on solving through using the P-O-L-C framework for your final project. Review Chapter 3 reading, in particular section 3.5 for ideas of global trends as ideas of business challenges, but of course you may choose a different issue that you find more interesting. Even if you pick a big challenge (like 1. Increasing concern for the environment) you’ll still need to narrow the topic in your weekly assignments to actions that can be taken at the managerial level.
Write a brief description of the business challenge and your interest to do additional research on this topic. Begin to collect articles on this topic for your final project. You will need at least 5 articles for your assignment for week one. All articles should be within the last 5 years.
