Learning Log Lesson 4
The purpose of keeping a learning log (a type of journal) is to give you a place to reflect on and write about your learning in this class. With regular entries in your learning log, you will see patterns and preferences about how you are integrating knowledge about child development, a sense of professionalism, and learning about developmentally appropriate strategies that support teaching and learning with young children into your own identity as an EC professional.
questions
Why is it important to uphold ethical standards and other professional guidelines in early childhood education?
How can you or how do you demonstrate early childhood knowledge, reflection, critical perspectives, and communication skills in your practice as an EC professional?
This is YOUR journal, so make it meaningful to you!
Answer the essential questions posted for EACH lesson to help guide and focus your thinking about information from each lesson.
Write a response to the essential questions in each lesson in 2-5 sentences.
What are your views or interpretations around these questions? Write down any additional questions you may have at this time.
Include the definitions of terms or vocabulary that you are asked to know about. You may add any other new vocabulary words to support your personal learning.
Provide justification and evidence of your learning (HINT: Connect your reflections to course material and learning outcomes. Don’t forget to cite your sources of information!)
At the end of the semester, I encourage you to re-read your learning logs to help you write your final project, the Four Dimensions of Professionalism assignment. Almost everything you will be sharing in that final assignment will be addressed in what you have already written about.
Each learning log entry should be a one half to one full page of typed text and reflect on your learning over the full lesson, addressing EACH essential question for EACH lesson.
Place an order in 3 easy steps. Takes less than 5 mins.
