the text (The Y, YWCA, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Jewish Community Centers).
Scenario: You have been hired as a consultant for the Community Action Group (CAG), a
non-profit organization that helps develop sport programs for youth in your area. You are
charged with developing a plan to employ the four groups outlined in the text to meet your
community’s needs. This plan will take outside research and analysis to fully develop your
answers. Specifically, the CAG would like to know the following five things in a 3 – 4 page
document. This document should have a cover sheet and citations. Additionally, the sections
below should be broken out separately.
a. Identify and summarize the mission of each of the four community organization
outlined above.
b. Assess the needs of your community (identify the community your using) and
describe what these groups can do for a community. (2 or 3 paragraphs)
c. How can the four groups outlined in the text work together to help your community?

d. Create a one-page plan that illustrates how sport management students can volunteer
with the identified groups to create a meaningful difference in the community.
e. Create a three or four paragraph plan to outline a continuous learning plan to ensure
ongoing support and development of the identified groups. A continuous learning
plan may include workshops, classroom training, distance learning, mentoring,
conferences and seminars all employed to ensure these groups work together in the
lobcing term to help the community.
