SUBJECT AREA: INTERNATIONALIZATION
Topic: Innovation and internationalisation processes of firms with new-to-the-world technologies.
Summary of the article I am using:
Kriz and Welch (2018) examine the connection between innovation and globalization in companies developing cutting-edge technology. This qualitative case study investigates how companies with cutting-edge technology expand internationally.
The findings indicate that businesses using novel technology have more difficulty expanding internationally due to a lack of familiarity with target markets and distribution infrastructure. The businesses ability to innovate, however, allows them to not only survive but thrive in the face of these difficulties and even expand into new areas.
According to the research, these businesses may make better use of the potential and avoid the pitfalls of internationalization if they consider the connection between innovation and globalization. They argue that enterprises should emphasize innovation as a crucial aspect of their internationalization strategy since going global with cutting-edge technology might open new revenue prospects. Given the lengthy timelines needed to bring new-to-the-world inventions to market, the study highlights the significance of process research designs.
