In this project, you will build an application using Objective-C [or Swift] in Xcode. Then, you will create an application using Java in an Android Emulator. Finally, you will assess any concerns involved with the applications you have created.
Build in Xcode: This part follows “An iPhone Fraction Calculator” on pages 464-479 of the Programming in Objective-C 2.0 textbook.
Follow the instructions on pages 464-479 to complete the Fraction_Calculator project in Xcode. You may use Objective-C or Swift. Your application should run without error, so follow all debugging practices to ensure proper functionality.
Create an engaging and functional user interface for your application.
Then, complete Exercise 1 on page 479 of the Programming in Objective-C 2.0 textbook to add the “Convert” functionality to your Calculator application.
Save each of your files with proper naming conventions to distinguish each. Also, take screenshots of your application running successfully, and include descriptions for each image.
Combine your files and screenshots into your final document, and be sure to label each section accordingly.
Create in an Android Emulator: This part requires you to complete the Fraction_Calculator project in an Android Emulator.
Convert the instructions from Part 1 to the Android environment using Java. The application should function similarly to the Xcode version and should also run without error.
Using the emulator’s user interface tools, create an engaging and functional UI for your application. You may adjust the visuals from the Xcode version, if desired.
Save each of your files with proper naming conventions to distinguish each. Also, take screenshots of your application running successfully, and include descriptions for each image.
Combine your files and screenshots into your final document, and be sure to label each section accordingly.
Concerns: Using the readings in this lesson and additional research, if necessary, assess the concerns involved with the applications you have developed. In your assessment, address the following areas: Health, Security, User Interface, Geospatial, and Gestures.
Submission: Once all parts are completed, combine them into a single Word document or PDF file and submit your work to the Post Project Dropbox.
