Please complete this week’s interactive studio art project by watching the “Constructed Scenery” The Art Assignment Video and following the instructions below. Make sure to post the final photograph of your Constructed Scenery by uploading a digital file (.jpg) and attaching it to a post to share with your classmates. Review your classmates’ artworks and provide thoughtful thorough critique. Your feedback is part of your grade for this project.
Instructions:
Gather materials to make a constructed scenery of your choosing. Consider what environments inspire you and that you wish to reflect on in this work on art. Search for materials around your home (ex. rocks, spices, magazine cut outs, leaves, toys, etc).
Combine natural elements with found objects and other items in an arrangement that references the natural scenery
Set up a “miniature diorama” of that scenery to photograph with the found and created materials
Take lots of photos with your camera or camera phone. Play with perspective, scale, lighting and focus to create the illusion of space while still allowing for the handcrafted nature to come through. (See examples for inspiration)
Upload only ONE of the photographs that you feel is most successful to the discussion forum for the final project.
Write a brief description of how you constructed your scene.
