Consider some of the case studies and artistic practices we have looked at between Weeks 2-7, and write an analysis which addresses the following questions:
What are some ways of presenting art and working with artists that go beyond the traditional exhibition context? More importantly, what are the challenges that go along with them?
What is the role of the curator when working as a mediator between the artist, the public, and the institution or site?
What are some methods that should be valued more in the art world when it comes to non-traditional presentations of art?
Analyze at least one example we discussed in class between Week 2-7, and cite the corresponding readings from those weeks in your analysis. (If you’d like you can also discuss additional examples as well which we may not have covered in class.) Include at least two other pieces of research to support your writing.
Cite all of your sources using footnotes formatted in Chicago Manual of Style. At the end of your paper include a Works Cited page which cites your sources in Chicago Manual of Style.
