CONCERT CRITIQUE: You are to watch one live concert, live stream show, or pre-recorded concert performance that features American music and write a critique of that same performance (2-page minimum/3 page maximum double-spaced).   This critique is worth 50 points and must contain the following:
A picture of the show you attended, or a link to the show you watched and a screenshot of that performance
Reference to researched material regarding the style or performance. For example, if you went to the Phoenix Symphony to see Aaron Copland’s “Fanfare for the Common Man,” you need to include researched facts about Copland and that particular work.
Reference to at least THREE items discussed in class, for example:
Instruments used and their history and/or significance to American music
Meter, form, rhythms, improvisation (?) used
Genre and stylistic characteristics of performance
Compare/contrast with other American performers and/or composers
At least one paragraph that includes your personal evaluation of the performance.
Lastly, DO NOT use colloquial terms, i.e.: cool (unless referring to the jazz era during the 1950’s), awesome, sweet, hot, etc.
Try to mix your genres for the 2 critiques: 1 rap, 1 country or whatever
